It was ideling right before I pulled the plugs It is leaking out of the back of the pod filter. I don't even know where the "overflow" tube is. It is NOT leaking from between the float bowl and carb body.

it sounds to me like you have some dirt or something stuck in the float valve [needle& seat] or else it has worn out. pull the float bowls off and give your carb a good cleaning. that should solve your problem look for rust in the bowls as well if you find any get your tank sealed and a new filter. you might have to replace the float valves as well.

The overflow tube is a small hose connected to a nipple exiting from bottom of the float bowl. The hose is usually routed over the swingarm to hang down underneath the bike.
When too much fuel enters the carb (because of a leaking float needle or some other reason), the excess fuel is supposed to escape through the overflow and drip out underneath the bike. That's why it's a good idea to always turn off the petcock when the bike is parked.
