I want to convert to a set of 80's vacume style carbs off a kz1100 on my 76 650 I have them but know nothing about them really. Will they line up and what kind of re jetting might I have to do? finally will it even make a difference?

First to fight, Last to leave

first thing's first what the hell do you want to put them on, that would be a good first step.because i'm pretty sure they won't fit on a 8v92 detroit diesel now will they. just kidding what are they going on to maybe we can help.

sorry about that i must be getting a little blind in my old age or because it was4 in the morning. i have never cv's i have used stock 1000 slide 26mm carbs the reason ididnt was that you would have to use the j manifolds inorder to mount the carb's and to do that right you would have to do a fair bit of port work to open the ports to match the manifolds. i would probably just use the 26mm 1000 carb's with those i went down a couple of sizes on the main and leaned out the needle 2 clip positions. if your motor is stock going to the bigger cv's wont gain you alot as you don't have the cams or head work to take advantage of the much bigger sized carb. also i'm not sure but you might run into a bit a space issue as well. id try the 26mm they worked really well and you should be able to get them reasonable.
