rpm related problem not throttle position.. was created by School Teacher
ok i have a set of keihn 34mm cv carbs on my 1000g that has a 1075 kit

ran fine when stock

now at 4800rpm flat spot till i hit about 6000 then to the moon i go

still there if i throttle up slow and try to cruise through it or if i am hole shotting wide open(when i am on it i just get through the rpm range quicker)

i have stock jets accept for the mains which are 136

is it something other than my carbs?

I would guess that it's carbs/headers/airbox characteristics assuming the spark advance is working correctly.

where this is happening is in your mid -range so that is were the needle circuit comes in to play try to richen that up by richen it up i mean lower your clip position on the needle. don't go 1 clip at a time ether make a drastic change and see if that improves the situation. if you go 1 clip at time it will take for ever to find out if what your doing is right.

I suggest when you hit the flat spot, to pull up on your choke lever. The bike will run either better or worse. If it runs better, you are flat from leanness and if worse, you are rich. This will give you a better indication of how to reclip your jet needle. Also, the size of the main jet will affect the mid-range as it is metering the gas that passes through the needle jet/net needle.
