Damn air screws! was created by TeK9iNe
Got my 81 KZ1000 CSR up and running now. I plan on being out on the street tomorow.

Here's the problem... I want to Sync the carbs. Which I can do no problem, I have a good manometer.

But... I'm setting the air screws in my BS34's and I cant hear any change in rpm on the right side of the bike! i can hear the difference on the left side, then when I go over to the right, I cant make out any differences from #3 and #4 screws! i can bog the bike by setting them all the way in, or very far out. but in between, theres no (audible) change in sound.

What should I do? Whats going on? Is the right bank to far below sync from the left? Or something worse :(

Cheers!:S

Profanity is more or less wasted on inanimate objects. You don't have air screws on your carburetors; they are pilot mixture screws. They control both air and fuel. I suggest you turn them to 1 3/4 turns out from lightly seated. Turn each in turn back and forth about 1/4 turn for max rpm. If you get no change, turn them back to 1 3/4 turns out and don't worry about it.

Ah, very informative! However... Due to my complacency... I forgot to mention that some time ago the PO re-jetted the bike and put a 4-1 Jardine high-flow system on.
The cyclinders will actually flood/bog if the mixture screws arent at least 2 1/2 turns out. Its kind of my starting point...

...but thanks Wiredgeorge, your a hero!

ALSO... you say "Pilot" Mixture Screws. So this would explain why the bike is a little rough to control with slight/slow ridin' throttle inputs, but anything after about 1/3 throttle is smooth and CRAZY fast!

I'm starting to get this stuff...
