How to determine which carbs? was created by supercharged
One of my 80 1000 LTDs had a 1075 kit, cam, ignition... and was wondering if they changed the carbs. Where on the carb can you distinguish them?

They look similar to my stock 1000 of the same year, but can't see any distinguishing markings?

If they're the correct carbs for the bike, they will be 28mm and have accelerator pumps.

Stock Jetting was:

102.5 main jets
5CN-29 Needles [1 groove on the needle]
#15 long pilots
O-1 needle jets [if memory serves me correctly]

They were a pretty good stock carb.

Well, I going to pull them and clean them up. The bike runs absolutely great at 3/4-full throttle, but bobbling lean around town. It was sitting before I bought it and some dried gas around the bowls/accel pump, so maybe they are gummed up.

It has the engine kit, Kerker with limited baffling and a K&N, so I thought maybe they just didn't fix the needle when tuning it, ut with one setting... now I'm hoping a good cleaning will fix it up.

Under the choke lever on the left side (#1 carb) on the flange is an ID mark. This mark is small and consists of 4 or 5 numbers and letters usually with 3 numbers over a number and letter. This identifies the carb assembly. I wouldn't pay much attention to jetting, which has likely changed over the years as most 30 year old carb assemblies will have been molested but the jet needle, needle jet badges are a 2nd best way of identifying but you will need to remove the slides and disassemble to this (will need to sync afterwards) so the ID mark remains the best way.
