KZ650 jetting question was created by shanecrow99
I am running a few mods and need to know what the ballpark jetting would be. I am running a Kerker 4-into-1 header with a non-baffled Kerker muffler. I also have a K&N drop-in filter.

My calculations put me at about 110 on the mains (4th position on the needle)and 17.5 on the pilot jet.

Does that sound about right?

The main jet might be a shade large with this set up but otherwise, OK.

George, your thinking 107.5 mains?

Truth be told, I have no idea what I am currently running but I will be cleaning my carbs soon and wanted to know what to expect when I get pull the carb jets. I have some sort of weird "miss" between 50 - 60 mph. My timing is dead on and I replaced the coils with Dyna 3 ohms, plugs and wires are new and the ignition system was swapped over to a Dyna-S. So, basically, I don't think that my ignition is the cause for the miss I am hearing. Therefore, I will be tearing the carbs down soon.

The size of the mains isn't all that critical. #107.5 is pretty good. One size one way or the other won't matter. Once you get the bike together and running OK, take it to redline. If you can pull redline, the main jets are OK.

I have the same exact setup on my 650 (Kerker, Dyna S, K&N drop in, coils) but my Kerker IS baffled and I run 105 mains and bike pulls hard to redline so 107.5's sounds good for you. ;)

I have tried that setup and ended up with a very similar problem sounding like the ignition is cutting out at about 4700 to 5700 rpm.baffle in mine at any rate went down on the main jet and it cured the problem. also used stock airbox with stock filter.
