Suzuki cv carbs fit KZ1000??? was created by DesertWizardB1
Can anyone tell me if these carbs will fit on a 77 KZ1000? Since I put in a 1075 kit the bike acts like it isn't getting enough gas over 4000 rpm. It still has the stock 26mm Mikunis'

Go down on your main jets. You are getting enough gas but the "26's" can't flow enough air. I had the same problem with my 1075 engine. Roy

Those carbs will probably work. I'm using similar carbs on my bike now. Roy

You'll have to deal with the center pull choke.
Here is a manual for the 1980 GS1000's
edebris.com/~bob/GS1000_MANUAL.pdf
The three variants in the last three sections have BS34SS.
You can see assembly diagrams and explanation of how they work if you're unfamiliar with these crabs.
Sorry I can't tell you the specific pages.
Before bidding to win, I'd ask the seller if he knows...
1)What jet sizes are installed.
2)Do the slides move freely.
3)Are the diaphragms in good shape.
4)How worn are the emulsion tubes.
5)If there are broken float bosses.
Much less chance of unpleasant surprises and more recourse options if you know the answers. Especially to 3 and 5.

I would wait on a set of KZ1000/1100 CV carbs as the suzuki carbs use a jacked up method of holding down the needle inside of the slide.its a snap ring deal and without some LONG snap ring pliers they are a b***h to remove.

I don't recall any problem getting the needles out to shim them up for pods.
IIRC they had circlips. This was on 1980. The bitch was getting the pilot screws out to replace the rotted O-rings. Mainly because they are cemented in and PO left very little of the screw heads to work with.
That said, I would not go much over $60-$70 for soozoo carbs if application is kwaker and then only if I'd been lookng a good while with no success.
Too much stuff to mess with to make them work well. Easier to go the other way.

Thanks for the replies guys. Duck, thanks for the link to the manual, I'm guessing the Suzuki had a choke cable. Craig, I think I'll wait and try to find a set of KZ1000/1100 cv's like you suggested. Roy, I saw your booth at Mid Ohio but you weren't there at the time. It was on a Saturday at it was pouring rain.
thanks again,
Len

Make sure you stop by again and meet me. Usally you can buy those carbs from a Kawasaki police bike for under $50.00. Roy

You'll probably need the holders too. The holders for the 26mm are smaller than for the 34.

when switching to these style carbs. do you have to switch your petcock from your tank? over to vaccuum style? or will gravity style petcock work?
i am buying a set of mikuni 34's soon, they have the "power squirt (i think like the plice bikes have) need a little onfo on mounting these.
j intake boots i would guess, anything else needed. they are center pull, with choke on the out side (not middle)
thanks

Gravity petcock. Don't see why not if float needles are sealing properly. -Duck
