jetted carbs ?s was created by steveo_4192003
i jetted my stock vm22s for my 77 kz650b-1 and now have a few ?s
my set up is
emgo pod filters, zx600 exhaust system (stock for 600r 1995), 110 main, 17.5 pilot, needle clip in 4th position and 2 turns out on air/mixture screw (bottom of carbs)
when i hit the throttle hard and reach 4000 rpm it cuts out, then kicks back in when i ease up a little on throttle. it also seems to be hesitant to get to 7000rpm and it sounds like it struggles to do it! i think its running rich as plugs are a little sooty. and the coils do have 12+ volts.
before i did any changes like adding pod filters(reason for jetting) the stock air box and new filter, zx600r exhaust ran super good together!
i could reach red line and it never cut out or was hesitant to go.
i may just go back to the stock airbox! but want to see if anyone can help or see a obvious fault with my settings
timing was good before i did the jetting, ,,, do i need to re-set timing to allow for change?
or try putting clip on #3(center) positoin on needle?

Sounds like a smart move.
It is probably running lean now if it goes weak as you try to tach it up to high revs.before i did any changes like adding pod filters(reason for jetting) the stock air box and new filter, zx600r exhaust ran super good together!
