Got a set of Mikuni BS 34s ( I think that is the number?) for a 1982 GPZ750. All stock except for pod filters. Took out the old needle jet, and it only has one place for a clip- but the new ones have 4 places for the clip. I was told by a local Z guru that he would probably set it on the next to lowest.
For you guys at sea level, is this about where you guys would go? He suggested fattening it up a bit.

I have the same bike. Id start in the middle and see how it runs then raise it if needed {lower the clip}. Mine has the stock air box on it and I wouldnt have pods as a gift, it runs perfect as is with an RC 4-1 pipe and the slow adjusters uncovered & richened up. You didnt mention the exhaust or any mods. Just my opinion, yours may vary

Like I said- all stock except for air pods- stock exhaust as well.
