Anyone had any luck stopping leakage at the fuel tubes between carbs without a total major overhaul ? Bike is a 73 Z1 w/stock 28mm VM carbs but same deal on all of the Z1/KZ900/KZ1000 carbs I think. I have 2 73 sets and 1 75 and they all leak. Will trade even one set for good set of leak free running 26mm carbs, prefer 76 KZ900's

If the fuel pipes are loose and leaking, Z1E has them.
Z1 fuel pipe .

Some folks report success by wrapping the old joints with teflon tape which tightens the fitment.

Good Luck! :)

Thanks, I didnt know they were available. Sounds like either way the carbs have to come apart. Do they just press in or is there an o-ring or something ?

Not 100% sure, but they will either have o-rings,or they will have a rubber coating on them.(with ribs formed into the metal casting)
I've seen both, and have dealt with both...can't say for sure on the carbs you have though.

I did the teflon-tape trick, and it did work.(3 plus years)
For peace of mind though...get new ones from Jeff and call it done.;)
