Carb kits, KZ550-F1 vs. ZX550A was created by coffeedragon
I purchased a set of 4 carb kits to rebuild my '83 KZ550-F1 but the packs that arrived and are labeled for a ZX550A. I don't know my Kaws well enough to be sure that these will work, can anyone confirm? The one thing that stands out is that there's a lot of brass and a couple rubber rings but no gaskets, which I would assume should be there.

Coffeedragon, I have the Clymer KZ500/550 AND ZX550 1979-1985 manual in front of me.On pg270 there is an exploded diagram of the carb rack for KZ550-H1 ; ZX550-A1 ; AND A2.These carbs show what I'd call a float bowl gasket but is described as an o-ring.It looks like the big piece of rubber in the piccy in your post.
There are no other gaskets shown.
On pg 271 there is a diagram of the carb rack for the KZ550-F1 AND M1.
Interestingly, there is no exploded carb diagram as in the aforementioned diagram on pg 270, and the carbs in both diagrams appear identical.
That said, again, no other gaskets are shown.
On balance therefore, I would say from looking at these diagrams that the kit you have will work for your carbs.
We do have I'm sure, guys on here with these bikes so be patient and see if anyone else pipes up.
