Can anyone tell me if 82 KZ1100 carbs will fit on a 80 KZ1000? I am thinking about buying the KZ1100 carbs, but I am not sure if they will mount up without changing the intake boots.

No... the outside diameter of the later BS34s is 54mm and the outside diameter of the OEM VM series carbs is 43mm. Not only will you have to swap carb holders but you will need to use a different throttle cable.

Better ask George how to jet it too, youll never figure it out with pods. CV's dont like pods for me.

Thanks for the info. I think I will stay away from the 1100 carbs. I found a set of 81 KZ1000 CV carbs that should be a better fit. I am trying to get away from the accelerator pump carbs that are on my KZ1000E2. I hate those things. I'm not trying to make it fast, just smoother and more efficient.

This is correct... same exact issues as the carburetors are physically identical. I know what you mean about the accelerator pump. I personally am not a fan. About 2/3 of the pump assemblies that come through our shop are NOT working... when the pump doesn't work, the bike will run but without that shot of gas when the throttle is twisted, they are not smooth and the jetting is no longer up to the task, even with a stock airbox. We are fully able to make the pumps work and we rebuild/verify each pump assembly but they are an addition complication. We remove the pump assemblies and pump bowls from several dozen sets a year and convert them to non-pump for this reason.
