will not idle, help needed was created by kz750ohio
I have finished replacing the gaskets on my bike. I have adjusted the shims .127 to .178 is the range on my clearances. The problem I am having is the bike will not idle. It will do fine revving through the rpm's. It will idle with a little bit of throttle but as soon as I let off the throttle the bike slowly drops rpm's and dies. I have tried adjusting the idle but it is either way to high or drops and dies. The float levels seem fine checking with a clear tube. I am not sure what else to check. Any idea's would be appreciated.

cheers,

max

Easy one... replace the pilot jets and clean the pilot circuit for each carburetor. The jets are Mikuni type BS30/96 and you can buy new ones at www.z1enterprises.com - That will most likely take care of the idling issue. You aren't getting either gas or air in the pilot circuit (or perhaps either!).
