Thanks Bill. The solution you came up with is really ingenious. I was given some instructions awhile back for a delay relay for the headlight... I can't recall how it works but the concern was that the headlight is just running off switched DC and you don't want it on till after the bike starts which is I guess the premise of your mod. Thanks for posting! Will keep this stuff under consideration for when I do the next rewire on one of my bikes. I have one project that is almost done... but the one after is an 80 shafty that I have almost all parts for. It is easier to do mods like yours with the shafty as it doesn't have everything going through the plug box found on most KZs... again thanks! wg

No problem WG.

The outstanding issues are not insurmountable either:

1) A Kick Start requirement could be meet by monitoring the Neutral Light Switch as others have suggested. ;)

2) The fail-to-safe bothers me because I wouldn't want anyone having to deal with a sudden no-Head-Light situation because of one of my designs... but it should be able to be designed in with a little more thought put into the relay polarities... I think.

But all this is for another day... for today belongs to the vintage bike, to the vintage rider and to the roads less travelled. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Best of success! :)
