:silly: Hi all, I have a 78 KZ650 B2. I want to replace the vacuum petcock with a manual one with a off possition. I went to the Pingel site and checked their application page, it shows my bike as having a 46mm spacing. I have read some of the posts here and measured the one on my bike (I could be slightly off as it is still on the bike) and they all seem to be 44mm. Could it be possible that the Pingel listing is wrong????

Also is the C model the same petcock??

Thanks
Bob

Not sure about the measurement issue, but I've got a pingel that came on the tank I bought on ebay for my cafe build (77 kz650 b1). The tank is either a B or C model tank and my stock b1 petcock bolted right into the tank.
I'd be willing to let the Pingel go for reasonable money. Shoot me an offer via PM or email (axton_kahler@yahoo.com) if you're interested.

Get your ruler out and measure. I have a 650 tank (don't know which) on one of my bikes and it doesn't have the 44mm mount bolt offset.

How is it measured? Center of bolt to center? End to end like a brake hose? I can measure, but need to know this important little detail.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Center to center of bolts or bolt holes in tank.

My B2 is outside, let me go check. It's 44 mm. I don't know if the C is the same, but I would think they are, the tanks look the same.

Go look at Z1Enterprises.com for your petcock and adapter plate, Jeff explains it all pretty good.

I did measure as well as I could with it still on the bike. What threw me off was Z1Enterprises guide said it should be 46mm while mine appears (with my eyeball measuring) to be 44mm. I quess I will pull the petcock off and get an accurate measure. I was just being lazy ;-).

Thanks for your feedback.
