My KZ 750 twin -83 is popping in the carbs when I take of from idle. Does anybody know what could be wrong?

I believe that popping from the carbs indicates that the engine is running lean.

When my 750 twin was popping when I let off the throttle, it was because the pilots were too lean.

Could also be timing.

BTW: did you install new pipes or change to air pods? That will make the engine run lean.

Thanks everyone, I think I found the problem. I blowed the pilotjets whit compressed air, and the popping seems to be gone... Something must have been stuck in them.
