RANT

I have a 80 KZ650 F1 and back in April I fired her up and she was spewing gas everywhere, so I've been putting much time and money in it as I find more and more things wrong. There is hope in sight but it looks as if another few days have been added to my month long project. I have spent this past month and a half really rebuilding my carbs, points and condensers, valve cover gasket, hoses, ignition coils, wires, all that good stuff. Last night I got her all back together, started her up and boy did she roar. Not only that but for the first time since I bought the bike last year it idled all by itself; I haven't even made any adjustments on it yet. THEN I notice the leak......
O don't know what the part is called, but those of you who are familiar with the 80 KZ650, it's where the fuel line goes into the carbs. The little rubber o-ring where the pipe connects to the carb is bad and leaks gas. So, just as I think I'm riding the bike home from my father's garage, I now have to take my carbs back off, apart, and then back on again. Oh to see the day when I'm cruising down the highway again.

According to Kawasaki.com and a previous discussion about this, there appears to be no "o" rings. A few memberes have pulled it out and used teflon tape with great results. It's #34 in the pic, let us know...

Yup...teflon tape DOES work.
