trigger I gave up on the frustration of trying to pry hardened carb boots around to fit over carb ends. I bought aftermarket pods great investment. Trust me. If not you can replace the boots with new as they don't cost too much or you can try this as I was told that if you boil them in water i heard that this softens them enough to make it easy to put them on.

yeah I 've been thinkin about pods instead
The rubber on the boots is still like new.
(It's still a pain in the ass though !!!)

I guess i'll go and try a bit longer.
If i get fed up I'll get some pods

thanks

Congrats on successful reassembly and continuing with the airbox intake system! :cheer:

Where 1972 KZ750 rubber on the boots is still like new -- would first call Guinness  , then consider these from Z1E: Baby, that feels so good!

Btw, in the dictionary under pain in the ass and fed up, might find a picture of carbs with pods hanging off torn carb holders with Mathuselah still tuning.

Good Luck! :)

I hate to say it but I always hook up the throttle cable first and then adjust the nut when I get the carbs back on :S

Same.

Trying having someone hold the throttle levers to give whatever little extra slack is to be had.

I know it would not be any fun if it was easy, but does it have to be this much fun?
