kz750 carb leaking/popping

My bike has run great for the last 2 years. The only modifications have been a header and pods. I did not do any jetting although i probably should have. Lately I have been constantly swapping the carbs and boots from motor to motor trying to get another bike running. I put them back on my bike again and it seems to sound different. Sounded deeper kinda and didn't rev as fast. Now whenever I leave the gas on prime while bike is off(got rid of vacuum/emmision system) gas pours out of the far left carbeurator. Why is this? The bike also seems to pop much more often and even once and a while when it is idling. The pops are very loud and deep. Can somebody please help me with this problem

Did you make any adjustments to them while you were switching them around from bike to bike? Have you checked that your intake boots aren't leaking air? As far as the overflowing carb, try tapping the carb bowl with the handle of a hammer or screw driver to see if the float may be stuck, or with you switching from bike you bike you may have jarred them enough that a piece of dirt came loose from one of the pipes that connects the carbs. Try removing the fuel line startin the bike so the carbs drain out, then reconnect the fuel line and see if the rush of gas cleans the float needle. You could also, shut the fuel off drain that carb by removing the plug screw on that bowl, the close it back up and reopen the fuel tap and that may flush any crap out also.
Good luck

alright new update. I just messed with the exhaust and the loud popping sound is gone. BUT, after i went for a ride i noticed that there was literally gas coming out of cylinder 1 from the exhaust. I could see gas slowly running down the exhaust pipe. This leads me to think that cylinder 1 is severely flooding. This would cause carb for cylinder 1 to leak (btw, gas is leaking out the intake opening where the pod filter is) and gas to come out of cylinder 1 from the exhaust. Also, the spark plug from that cylinder is wetter than the others. Would this be caused by a stuck float?

Oh Yeah, and incase u were wondering I fixed it just how milkman suggested. I beat the piss out of, i mean tapped the bowl and flushed the gas out. After turning the fuel back on it fired right up and ran great. No more gas leaks from either side and popping is at a minimal

Would suggest also giving the crankcase oil the sniff test to help determine whether any of the excess fuel made it into the crankcase. If in doubt, would change oil and filter.

Good Luck! :)
