is there any cure for weeping fuel connector fittings on Mikunis ??? My 650C2 is showing the effects of its age and apparently these 3 little rubber/plastic fittings that connect the fuel supply across the 4 carbs shrink after sitting unused for awhile.
Yes, the carbs will have to be removed from the rack to work on these fittings but is there another solution rather than just replacement ??
All suggestions gratefully solicited....:)

I bought the o rings from z1enterprises.com to replace the ones on my smooth bores because mine were leaking and yet after I had ridden it for a few days the leak went away. Teflon sounds like a great fix if yours doesn't straighten itself out. I remember the orings were inexpensive so 25 or 6 to 4

Can't say for sure because I don't know the 24mm carbs on the KZ650,but I don't think they have o-rings.I think they are like the 26mm,and have the unions(t-fitttings)that are covered in a rubber shell, with raised ridges to seal.

Absolutely correct, Sandy. What a lame setup, IMO. If they had orings, the fix would be simple, as saxjonz found out.
Unfortunately I'm stuck with the old style fittings. I'll give the teflon tape thing a try, Sandy....if they don't "heal" themselves in the meantime. I think what may have happened is that they dried out over the winter storage season because I had the bowls off for cleaning and new gaskets, thus....no gas in the lines and bowls to keep the fittings swelled up enough to seal properly. I'll give things another week or two to see if they'll swell back up enough. It seems that the longer they have gas in the lines and bowls, the less I have the stink of gas in the garage. Thank heavens SWMBO is away for 2 weeks while this sorts itself out. She can smell gas fumes a mile away.;)
I do NOT want to have to remove the carb rack and start dismantling everything. No probs doing it as I've had many multi-carb setups apart over the years but it's just SOOOOO
tedious a job.....:(

It seems there must be several different carbs used on the 650s (apart from the ones using CV carbs), because the 24s on my 650 do have o-rings on the fuel supply fittings and the fittings are metal, not plastic - I have 3 racks and they´re all like that.

My 78 KZ650 B with 24's didn't have O-rings, just the rubber cover with raised ridges. I had a small leak, 1 drip every 5 minutes. I had to pull 2 of the carbs off the bar to remove the T, 4 wraps of Teflon tape is all it took to fix.

I've fitted pipe for many years, and Teflon tape works well, but I've never used with Fuel before, I'll have to look into that.

I questioned it too, thinking fuel will just eat through the teflon, but it did...it worked great, and like I said,it stayed dry right up til the carb swap-over.(3 years anyway).;)

Well, the fittings seem to have swelled back up since the gas has been in them constantly. No more gas smell in the garage. SWMBO will be tickled....and I didn't have to do anything at all. Hopefully all will be well from now on....
but I WILL remember the teflon tape fix, just in case.
