hey guys, new to the board and i have a ?. just bought a 81 1000ltd from a buddy of mine. he had put pods and a 4-1 exhaust on it. i figured i would need to rejet it for the air flow and exhaust, but he told me that he had also installed j modle carbs on it and that wouldnt be needed. ive been playing with cb750s for years, and this is my first kz. what is the difference between the j modle carbs and ltds? biegger stock jets? or should i go ahead and do the chop tests on the plugs just to be sure. its got two year old gas in it and im cleaning the carbs and tank out at the moment, just wondering what to expect. lave this site, worlds of info and you guys seem ready to help out, hope to be around for awhile.

According to the factory service manual:
J Model Main Jet 127.5R, Needle Jet Y-6, Jet Needle 5FLZ49.
LTD & CSR Main Jet 122.5R, Needle Jet Y-1, Jet Needle 5FL51.
Everything else appears to be the same.
I'd do the plug chops to check it though, better safe than sorry (besides that it's fun)
