Does anyone have any photos that would show the choke linkage on a Keihin CV 34 carburetor? This is on a 1981 Kawasaki KZ750 LTD. I believe mine was bent and not hooked up correctly , I got it straightened out, but need to see how it hooks back up. The area of concern is in between carb 2 and 3 where the choke lever actuates the choke linkage to the carbs. Thanks.

There's a couple of pics from a previous post of mine that might help:

Thanks for the photos!

Is there any adjustment at that linkage that would affect performance? I have had a problem with bogging at the 4-5K RPM I haven't been able to nail down. The carbs have been cleaned numerous times and I even replaced the pilot jets. Could it be something else besides carburetion?

If not already done, would verify:

(1) ignition timing using strobe-type timing light

(2) operation of advancer unit, watching it move forward and back with rpm changes

(3) compression -- perform compression test

(4) valve clearances -- assure gap is per factory specs.

(5) adequate fuel delivery -- detach fuel line from inline filter exit, open petcock and watch for ample fuel flow pouring from filter. Clear any suspected blockage. May need to flush out fuel tank, remove petcock and clean screens on the petcock intake tubes that go up inside the fuel tank, clean petcock, and clean or replace the inline filter. This to assure the bogging is not being caused by fuel starvation.

Might help diagnosis to perform a bog-speed plug chop -- Run a few miles at bog rpm, and while still running at bog rpm simultaneously close throttle, squeeze handlebar clutch lever and kill ignition. This is the same procedure as a high-speed plug chop, but done as a bog-speed plug chop. Then remove and inspect (read) the sparkplugs. Use a short length of rubber tubing tightly fitted aronud the plug to remove and replace it without burning fingers (should be routinely carried in the on-board bike tool kit). The idea is to see what's happening to the plugs inside the combustion chamber during the bogging conditions. Too lean? Too rich? Just right?

Good Luck! :)
