What are stage 3 jets? If you are referring to the Dyna stage 3 jet kit those jets are simply larger than the ones you already have. Nothing special about them.
I bought a stage 3 kit from Dyna a long time ago and when I found out what was in it I felt ripped off. Just re-jet your bike with standard mikuni jets. It's a lot cheaper. Jet kits are not worth the money when you can do the same thing with standard jets.
I have a 78 KZ650C. My jetting with a 4 into 1 pipe and pod filters was
Mains #118
Pilot jets stock #15
Needle Middle slot
Air screw 1 1/2 turns out.
This jetting combo was perfect and I live at 4500 ft elevation.

Hey Gang. Sorry kz550man, I can't help you out directly with the jets you are looking for but it does show the need for an solution I recenlty floated here. As I suggested earlier in the week a jet and shim exchange area on the classified section would be a nice addition that would save members a lot of trouble. Most of us have a collection of each sitting unused and guys like kz550man would simply have to check out the availability on the posting. Can someone get in touch with one of the decisionmakers to see if this idea can fly?

I know folks are trying to be helpful but kz550man has a bike fitted with Teikei carburetors and NOT your Mikuni carburetors so Mikuni based experience won't help him a great deal. There are NO aftermarket Teikei jets out there and that is why he is looking for Dynajet Stage 3 jets. He is also too cheap to pay the $140 for the set of four main jets bwhahaha. FWIW kz550man, they throw in four jet needles that are the same as the KZ650/KZ900/KZ1000 jet needles too bwhahaha
Sorry, for the humor but the price is too high for a set of main jets. In any case, swap to Keihin small headed main jets. The sizes seem to be pretty much on scale with the Teikei and I have rejetted Teikei carbs using these jet. Go up three sizes to about #110s for your bike if you have pipes n pods. You CAN get them through www.z1enterprises.com so that part is RIGHT... :P
One more note... the reason the Keihin jets fit is that the thread pitch on the jet is the same as the Teikei but differnt than the Mikuni main jets. Unfortunately, NO Teikei pilot jets will swap with other brand pilots that I know of.

Das Teufel is correct... the 100s are about right for rejetting for pods/pipes. Had my brain waves scambling. I think the OEM jetting for a Teikei is a #92 main or something along those lines so a #110 would be a bit large.

Yup, 92's are stock, 100's with pods and pipes works great for me. Beauty of it is, you can pick up a set of jets for under 20 bucks! Another note, test ride the bike before you start playing with the needle settings, I didn't, and put it back to it's original location.

Order the 100's, that should eleviate your symptoms. They are the 393 series. And yes, they will screw right in. Also check your needle setting, mine is in the original clip position.
