vm26 intake boots for kz650? was created by anarki650
I'm putting a set of vm26 non-pumper carbs from a mid/late 70s GS750 onto my 77 kz650 b. My question is this: will the intake boots from the GS mate properly to the head on the 650? Or do I need to try to find some aftermarket (or other kz model maybe?) option to make this work? I've already sent a question to Jeff at Z1, just thought I'd throw it up here as well to see if anyone knew off hand.
Thanks!!

I suspect that the boots from the GS750 will work if they are generally able to mate up with the Kaw cylinder head but I also think you will have to elongate the mount holes as the bolts that hold the 650 carb holders are probably set closer together. I doubt Jeff will know for sure but he might. I think Suzuki carb holders are only available OEM where Kaw carb holders are available aftermarket and Jeff sells them. The VM26/VM28 carb holders Jeff sells WILL fit your bike with elongation of the mount holes... I use a Dremel with a stone to do this elongation.
