Replacement Vacuum Petcock was created by inline79
My vacuum petcock leaks out the outlet port. I tried:

1. Rebuild with just new seals (had to re-use diaphragm) - leaked a bit less.
2. Used Kawasaki rebuild it - new diaphragm just leaks like there's no petcock (maybe too much wear in the petcock).

So my alternatives were:

A. Use a 1977 manual petcock - hard to find, usually broken anyways.
B. Use a Pingel - didn't want to modify my tank. Expensive.
C. Use a Suzuki vacuum petcock - outlet points the wrong way, they look too wimpy.

or

D. Use a KZ1000 Police petcock. (read about it here somewhere). 51023-1375

I chose D. for about $70US. (MSRP $112CAD!!!)

Photo attached. I haven't installed it yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. The design inside is much improved so that even if it starts to wear the o-ring will still seal the port.

Sorry, forgot to re-do my signature. KZ650C2.
Can't measure bolt spacing right now, but it's probably 50mm.

I had to guess that the KZ650H petcock was the same as the KZ650C2 - they used the same O-ring and mount bolts. That lead to the KZ1000P. Good price for an OEM part.

My 77 KZ650 measures around 44mm. It's sure not 50 or 34 I can see that clearly. I hope this petcock works for you. I see everything from the GPZ750 to the Concours to the police model all use the same oring, so apparently bolt spacing differences does not effect the oring, so no way to know what you'll get.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I went with C. and yes the tubes did not point the right way, but besides that it has been wonderful. Helped with the slow flow issue I had been having as well.

I too went with C. Had to get a little creative with the hose routing, but once I figured that out, it worked great. And the price was right--less than $40 from Z1E.
