American Turbo Pac GPZ550 kit
27 Apr 2008 15:56
Hey There Guys,
I'm new to KZR, but I am not new to any of the models that kawasaki has put out over the years. I have a complete original turbo kit from American Turbo Pac that contains all of the part #s and instructions. Kit is for an 81 GPZ550. Does anyone know of anymore of these kits out there? I have searched for years and nobody even acknowledges they ever existed.

I can't say as I've ever seen one but pretty much all the ATP kits were a pretty uncommon item back in the day. They were pretty pricy even back then. They would be a good mod for a 550 though if for no other reason than to be rid of the terrible TK carbs they came with.

Well, I only have one kit, and would have to pretty much be on my death bed before I let it go. You know, I think I remember that Giant killer article now that you mention it. I was going to modify the kit to put it on my 83 GPZ550 and see how it goes, but I am way to involved in building my KZ1000 as well as six other bikes.

Hey Mcspeed, Hows it goin. I just bought back a 1973 Kaw Z1 I sold to a friend 32 years ago. I bought it new. The bike has been sitting for 7 years and yes that gas tank is nasty rusty. But I will bring it back from the dead. So now the bike has a 73 frame with the frame kit all welded in and has a 78 1015 motor with a welded crank. It has the ATP kit with a Zenith carb. Would it be possible to get a copy of the install manual which I would be eternally grateful for. Any help would be greatly appreaciated. captscubaman
