KZ750 Pods
24 Apr 2008 19:40
I have a 1982 KZ750 that is mostly stock. I was wondering what i should do about my lack of air filters. i would really like to add pods, but would like something inbetween the $150+ K&N pods and the $40 Ebay pods. My choice would be twards the ebay ones, but either way what size do i need? Also would there be any rejetting needed, i would rather not mess with the jets.

Get air filters.
40$ will probably get you paper filter pods....
150$ will probably get you cloth recleanable/reuseable filters.
Both work well, but the paper ones will need to be periodically replaced, so consider how long you plan to keep the bike and plan accordingly.
You will need to re-jet it, and I would trust others opinion as to which ones to get over my guesses.
Best of luck and I wish I had the 150$ ones......

If you go with pods you will have to mess with the jets. From your avatar it looks like you have the original 4 ->2 exhaust. Nice. You could always get an airbox on ebay and I see a few on there at the moment and get a regular air filter for it from Old Bike Barn or some other dealer.

I see good used airboxes on ebay all the time for maybe $40. That's what I would use. You can also get them from dismantlers who part out the bikes. They sell the parts cheap.
+1 to the comment pods will cost a lot more in money and time because you have to rejet the bike to get it to run.

i run pods on my 650.be perpared for lotsa intake noise(i like it).a heavy rain can get them soaked and cause sputtering(this only happened to me once).Rejtting would be essential with pods i would think.
