jet in front of (blocking) pilot jet, strange
23 Apr 2008 15:31 - 23 Apr 2008 15:37
Hello KZ brothers,
My 78'KZ650B has jets blocking the pilot jets(in the same tube).Having two jets on a row seems redundant.Does anyone know why mikuni would do this? I removed them of course and gained a few ponies off idle to 3,000 rpm. This is not an issue...i was just curious.

It is a strange arrangement found on the very early KZ650's and some early Suzuki GS550's. It really doesn't seem to make a lot of sense. I can only assume the large 50 jet acts to provide a more consistent flow of fuel into the 15 pilot jet.
