83'440/ltd....i cleaned the carbs and got this bike running after storage of 10 years.......the bike starts with the choke on, and idles pretty good.the problem is it just bogs down as soon as you give it some gas.i have ridden it about 100 miles like this and it hasn't improved.where do i go from here?.......all parts look good in the carbs and it is clear and clean....all stock....thanks in advance for any help........B)

That looks to be a pretty nice example you have there. The first thing you need to check is that you have the air filter installed correctly. Open the seat and grab the rear of the filter and lift up on it. If it moves up you have it installed wrong. There is a little slot in the airbox that the filter has to slide into before you attach the top 2 screws. It is critical that the filter is installed correctly on this bike because the carbs are very sensitive due to the lean jetting to meet the EPA regs. From what you've described I'd be willing to bet this is your problem.

muchas gracias Gringo,....i am preety sure i have no filter, it has been missing since i have owned the bike....at least i can't see a filter, and the air box looks to be a see thru..unless i am not seeing it correctly???..i will get one for it and hope that helps, any more possible cures?anyone? this bike only has 4000 miles on it and i have never had it on the road yet......

The air box is clear? No filter? Something isn't right... air box should be made out of molder black plastic. Filter needs to be in place else the bike will run real lean and you will BOG DOWN AS SOON AS YOU GIVE IT SOME GAS. Buy a service manual... check kawasaki.com under OWNER INFO and look at the parts diagrams for your bike; specifically the airbox/filter drawing.
