Float Height (29mm Smoothies)
15 Apr 2008 21:39
Well so much for using the "Search" function. What the hell is up with it,anyway?
I tried a whole list of different words and phrases, but nadda!
Sometimes I really miss the OLD KZrider. The search function worked.
Anyway...it's past my bedtime apparently(I'm bitchy),but before I go...
Float Height on the 29 Smoothies.I'm PRETTY sure it's 24mm,but is that WITH,or WITHOUT the bowl GASKET in place?
It's been a long time since I've had to know that...DUH!
Thanks Guys.
(Oh...and any tricks on USING the search function would be helpful. There's not just ONE tab to do a search, there's a couple...wtf?)

Greg Cope published this list of tips for 29's a while back:
Float level- 23.5-24.5 mm. from base of gasket to top of float.
#0-4 Needle Jets
#1.0 Air Jets
#2.5 Needle/seat
Hope this helps.

I think 23mm measurement is without the gasket in place. Best to use the 23mm with no gasket since there are a variety of gasket papers used (different thicknesses). The needle jet is 0-6 by the way. The needle/seat thing stated as #2.5 is misleading. What the 2.5 is is that the hole size in the float seat which is 2.5mm and last, the stock air jet on all varieties of VM29 is .9 that is .9mm - I think you can buy 1mm air jets but difference in size wouldn't make a difference, to my thinking. The larger air jets are used because the slide cut away is 1.5 which is about the smallest available on the Kaw version of the VM29. I think that 1mm air jets are the standard on a VM33...
