Got any jetting suggestions for a KZ750?
13 Apr 2008 18:11
Glad to find this place. Looks to be an incredible resource to have.
Purchased a really nice conditon 1980 KZ750 recently that needs a little carb help. The previous owner attempted but didn't complete a cafe racer project (luckily).
The bike has a period Mac pipe that I'm going to remove the baffle from. I ride at right around sea level, really never more than 500 feet above that.
The carbs have pod filters (obviously with out clamps!!)
Anybody have some suggestions for the slow speed and main jets thru past experience with this model?
I wanna make her really run well with no starting issues.

In 1980, both four cylinder and twin models of the KZ750 were sold. Which is this? I can't tell from the picture which doesn't show the carburetors well. Lots of owners put their bike info and location in their signature by editing their profile. This is pretty helpful and would have been here.

I thought it was an excellent photograph of a 4 cylinder with Keihin CV 34 carbs. I can make out 3 pod filters and that distinctive K in the Keihin name on the side of #1 carb.

Good for you JR... I see only part part of the #1 carb holder with a radiator clamp and no carburetors/filters.

Forget the pods, the starter is behind the cylinder block and the alternator cover is obviously a four

I dont think you can get pilots for love or money anymore so be carefull cleaning them. The others you can get at Z1 enterprises. The samller size may not be shown on their website but they do have them.
