Hey all,

So I'm trying to decide what to do about carbs when I build my 810cc engine. Should I rejet my VM24's? Get 28's or 29's? Get a set of BS34's? All suggestions greatly appreciated.

MegaSquirt, GPz1100 throttle bodies with injectors, misc parts, less than $600.00.

26mm carbs off a KZ900/1000, less than $150.

34mm mikuni CV carbs off a GPz750, less than $150.

eBay prices.

I'm sure there are other options as well.

Where did 28's and 29's come from steell? I'm not quite ready for FI yet, although i do have an electromotive tec2 sitting here collecting dust. Maybe when I go turbo

And that thing above wont really work on a 4 cylinder bike lol.

73to75 Z1s had 28s some 79 1000s had 28s with accellorater pumps.i have been thinking about a set of 34s from a GPz 750 for my 1000.The 29mm smothbores were a performance option from kawasaki at one time but they are rare and pricey.

would 34's be overkill for what i'm doing? i'd figure up a size or two, maybe get some 28's, but i dont have an accel pump, so how hard would they be to find?

I seeee, well I guess my suspicions may have been correct. I'll ask WG what he thinks when I buy them, and barring any revelations I'll be going with whatever's cheapest and will do the job well.

I'm going to revive this thread with a question. What about Keihin CV34's from an 82 KZ750 Spectre?

I switched from Keihin CV34s to Mikuni BS34s and never looked back. I'm MUCH happier with them!
