Rebuild kits for 750 where? was created by CJBrian
I just picked up a 80 KZ750G1 LTd Twin today. I want to rebuild the carbs because the previous owner only rode it twice in 4 yrs. Which Mikunis came stock in 1980? and where can I buy rebuild kits? Thanks in advance.

I ended up putting 79 750 twin carbs on my 80 750G because I couldn't find rebuild kits for the 80 model anywhere.

Before I switched the carbs I tried using the 79 carb kits in the 80 carbs, after spending a week trying to get it to run right, I finally gave up and pulled the kit parts back out of the carbs and put them in 79 carbs, instant success.

I don't know what the difference is between the 79 and 80 carbs, but the 79 carb kits sure don't work in the 80 carbs :(

I did call one place about carb kits for the 80 that told me they could put a couple together for me, at $100 each :woohoo:

I have a 1979 KZ750 twin and the place that made the kits for that one are Keyster. They list it as:

KZ750B (twin)......................$19

www.loudfastugly.com/carbkits/carbkits.htm

This place sells K+L kits, but the only list the 1979 kit.

If nobody sells parts for the 1980 carbs, you could try getting the 1979 carbs from a dismantler. When I was looking for parts for mine, I saw several places parting out "B" model 750 twins. Here is one place listing them:

You can email them and they will look up the part for you and quote a price.

Hey Steell how much did you pay for the 79 carbs?

Does any know of any upgrade carb kits? Like the round slide VM mikunis.

Smithgpz put a brand new set of Mikunis on his 750 twin, IIRC the price was somewhere over $400.

I have a whole bunch of spare 750 twin parts, since I have disassembled two bike plus collected a lot more parts.

But I don't have any more spare carbs.

They seem to go for $50-$100 on eBay, more than a set of 4 26mm carbs off a KZ900 :woohoo:
