I just purchased K&L carb kits for my 1981 KZ750 LTD. I know what most of the parts are for. But there is a metal disc and larger o ring in the package, not sure where they go. Anyone know? Here is a photo of the kit. I know the pilot adjusting screw, spring, washer, o ring. Drain screw o ring, and float bowl gasket

The metal disc is for over the piolt air adjustment screw on the outside of the carb at the top front. Most of us have drilled these out and removed them.
The larger O ring is for on the neoprene plug which fits over the pilot jet.
Good Luck

I don't know if anyone else has had this problem, but when I installed the kits last month on my '82 kz750 Ltd (CV34 carbs) I wondered what the large O ring was for too. Figured that it was for the pilot jet plug so I took the first one off and found out there was no way that plug was going back on. Ended up going through three of the new o-rings, trying to trim them to size to get it to fit back in. Needless to say, I didn't try replacing the other three.

I used those O rings on the pilot plug. A very tight fit but I managed to get them all in place. Perhaps you just got a bad batch. I have found that their bowl gaskets are often not the greatest fit and after being in contact with gas for a while they tend to swell making a bad fit even worse or darned impossible.

The pilot plug o rings were indeed a tight fit. I had to dremel them a little to get them to fit.
