I am noticing alot of dripping and the smell of old gas on the engine below the carbs.
qwestion is, how much different are the 1989 police 1000 carbs from say a 1981 kz750E2 carb set?

I will be needing to pull these apart soon and beautifying the insides and outsides.
Looks like its the overflows only so a nice soakage of the bowls and clean out the ports and jets & any other orifice i see in the carbs will be in the next few weeks.
then oils & filters.

Fixing that overflow seepage requires getting a 100% seal on the needles (the ones the float tab pushes on)where they mate with the brass seats. You either have to polish the ones you have until they are dead smooth or replace with new ones.
