Which way to turn the air/ fuel screws to add more gas? on a 78 650, mikuni! Thanks

You have the airscrew type carbs, so opening the screw adds more air, closing it decreases air, so in other words to richen the mixture turn the screw clockwise.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

I am used to fuel screws. Turn them in to lean the mix. With the air screws you turn them in to enrichen the mix.

To me, this feels counterintuitive.

Depends on what you're used to. I've owned my KZ for over 20 years. So I'm used to it as it is.

I did/do the R/C airplane thing. Those little motors need high and low rpm mixture tuning.

Adjusting one tweaks the other. Plus, you need to tune those little motors pretty much every time you go out with them, and they are really finicky.
