1979 KZ650 stock pilot jets - post a photo please!
24 Mar 2008 01:14
I need to see a photo of the stock pilot jet on a 1979 KZ650B 3. I also need to see a photo of where it goes. I have a manual but those details are not there. Also do pilot jets just screw in all the way or are there a certain amount of turns it needs to be? Thanks

The pilot jets screw in all the way, below is a pic of the pilots (circled). (Remember to click on pic for larger pic and scroll around, click outside pic in shaded area to return)

Pilot jet goes into the smaller opening off to the side of the larger (which is where the main goes).

Thanks guys! And the ones circled are the exact ones for the 79 kz650 b3? I need a photo of the exact pilot jets so I can get replacements from Sudco. They gave me some & they were way too long. And I cannot take it apart to see what it looks like because I have to drive my motorcycle down there. Also in the last photo it is the small hole to the right? Can someone circle where the pilot jet goes? Thanks!

Yes, those are the pilot jets for all 650's with VM24 carbs. Below is a pic of a kit which covers 77-79 which also have the "same" pilot jet.

Thanks!
I had them rejetted to a 105 main & 17.5 pilot. I have pod filters & open 4 into 2 exhaust. Are the pilot jet sizes ok? Or should I go up to 20?
