Does it matter which kind you get? metal screen or paper filter? High or regular flow?

Uncertain about pros and cons of different style in-line fuel filters, but have used these as carried by Z1E for years and been well satisfied.
Z1E Fuel Filter
Am thinking the main consideration is to have in place an in-line fuel filter of some kind (protecting those pristene carb internals), and replace it before it gets dirty enough to impair adequate fuel flow.
Should assure installation allows fuel to travel through the filter in the correct direction. There should be an arrow on the filter (sometimes difficult to see) pointing in the direction of flow.
Where dual lines feed carbs from petcock, I use two filters (one in each fuel line).
The filters will last a long time where the fuel tank is internally clean and good clear gas is being fed through a screened petcock.
Good Luck!

I use the same one and it works great. I really like to be able to disassemble the filter and clean the brass filter medium inside. You get a good idea of what is flowing through the fuel system.
I have used clear plastic filters in the past without problems as well.
Either way, they are a great addition to any bike!
I use Russell 1/4" alloy inline, and I've had no problems.
