I know this is not a KZ, but i was hoping you all could help me anyway. I was getting the wifes 1966 250 bultaco matador ready for this year when the idle speed nut broke on top of the carb. I finally found a replacement one for that, and put a new throttle cable/assembly on while I had it apart. After putting it back together I check for spark, top off the fluids and fire it up. It immediatly revs super high, no matter how much ajustment I do on the nut on the top. So my question is if I move the C clip on the needle will this help. Oh yea, its a IRZ carb that 28mm with i believe a 150 main jet in it. Thanks for the help

Brandon, it almost sounds to me like the slide is not in the carb correctly. If it were me I'd pull it apart again and make sure the groove that is cut in the slide is lined up with the little locating nub (for lack of a better term) that is in the slide bore.

Thanks, I'll try that when I get home tonight. Usually because I'm just a boy(26) I get answers like "where did you hear that name of carb, or just give up they haven't made those parts in 40 years".

Ok, so I am afraid to say that I think I am a little retarted. I pulled the carb apart on saturday and saw that the little nub on the side was keeping the slide from going all the way down. After about 15 minutes of trying to get a good picture of it to post on here to show you guys, my wife comes out and point to the screw with the spring on it on the side and said "why don't you just turn the screw?" Well, needles to say I felt very short bus worthy when I turned the screw and the slide went to the bottom of the carb. 10 minutes later the carb was back together and now the bike purrs like a kitten. Thank you for all of your help, and I'll put a picture up tonight for all of you to see our little project.

maybe your wife should fix and ride the bike while you stay home and wash the dishes...
