Need some rebuild help...

Ok guys I need some help. I have a 1980 kz750 ltd with stock carbs. I have taken them apart to rebuild and not thinking ahead I didnt look at the manual until after I took them all apart. It said i was suppose to seat the top pilot(one with the spring at the very top) and count the turns so I know where it goes when i put them back together. well getting ahead of myself i saw this after the fact. when putting the carbs back together, after lightly seating them how many turns out do they need to be? also i am putting on pods and 4:1 exhaust with a #70 main and #140 sec. main, will that change the turns for this top one? thanks guys. i hope to have this thing on the road soon.

Are you talking about the "air" screw? Mikuni's?

no they are the stock carbs. if you are looking at the top of the carb. you have the dome that screws in at the four corners, but outside of that there is one hole. its has a cap over the top, then the jet, spring, o-ring and i think a washer.

You can start wih the screw 1.5 turns out.
Your happy spot with pods and 4:1 should be somewhere between 1.5 & 2 turns out.

isn't that the required turns for the one at the bottom of the bowls? based on the picture in this link, i am referring to the one labeled 16014. i think the 1.5 turns if for the one labeled 92009. i could be wrong cause im new to the carbs.

92009 is your float bowl drain screw, if you turn it 1.5 turns out, you're going to leak gas all over you engine.

hahaha see i knew i was probably wrong. ok so 1.5-2 turns out for the one at the top? thanks guys.

2 turns out. These are the air mix screws on the top at the front
