Petcock Problem

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this subject or not.....but the petcock is connected to the carbs, so.....
If it's not the right forum, could the board admin folks move it to the correct forum for me ??

My problem is that the petcock on my KZ650C2 has a slight weepage of gas around the outlet elbow fitting. I never realized that this elbow could be moved....or removed until I started investigating the leak. Strange design. Has anybody used some kind of sealant or oring to prevent gas leaking out of this area ?? All help/experiences greatly appreciated.

this is not the best fix, but they do sell gas tank mender, its a epoxy, it holds up well, may not look the best but it will seal

JB weld works for this. The nipple is not supposed to pull out or be loose fit, it's meant to be a tight fit. JB weld holds up indefinately to gas.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Thanks for the suggestions, gents. I'll have to hunt up a tube of JB Weld or some other gas proof epoxy and give it a whirl. This is a REALLY dopey design, IMO, because that elbow is made out of diecast zinc and is VERY fragile. Grrrrr......
