carb float repair was created by jmargrav
My clumsiness strikes again! While putting my carbs back together I dropped one of my carb floats. In the process of trying to recover my lost float I stepped back and stepped directly on the float itself. So my question is, are there any glues that would hold my float together and not fail because they are constantly bathing in gas? The guy at my local checkers store also told me that if I tried to glue my float back together it would throw off the balance of the float itself and the carb would not operate properly. Is there any truth to that in my situation? Will I just have to buckle down and find a used or new float?

I agree, I started this thread hoping to get some friendly advice, but to get a float for free just blows my mind!! I hope I can help others out like that in the future. This forum ROCKS!:woohoo: thanks again randy.

It's things like that which makes me think I should grab some $.99 carb rack off ebay. Never hurts to have spare carb parts! Yes, this site is very cool and so are the members!
