I have a 1977 KZ1000 LTD. The bike has stock airbox and stock exhaust pipes and engine is stock. I am putting a set of 29mm mikuni carbs on it. I'm not sure what pilot jet and main jet to use. Any information will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome Cam.
Hey...first of all...are You SURE that the carbs are 29mm,and not 28's?
Can you post a picture of them for Us to look at?
I'm using 29mm smoothbores as well, but I'm also using a 4 into 1 pipe with pods,so my jetting will be different than yours.

Thanks for the info Sandy. I can't post a picture of them, but they for sure are 29mm smoothbore carbs. The info you linked me sure seems like it would be pretty rich for the bike. I'm not sure.

Suggest you start with #17.5 pilot jets and #115 main jets and clip jet needles to 3rd slot. Slots are counted top to bottom with top = #1. The air screws will be out 1/4 turn or less. Type VM22/210 pilot jets are used and normal Mik main jets. This is for stock airbox/pipes.
