How long can i soak my brass parts in berrymans carb cleaner?

Can i dissasemble the carbs and just leave them in the solution until i get the primary main jets in the mail?

how long is too long to soak everything?

I've never tried berrymans, but the carb cleaner I use has recommendations on the can. I use the gallon can type with a basket inside. If berrymans is different, the guidelines should still be the same. Check out the carb cleaner kits at the local auto parts store if there are no directions on your can.

For extra tough buildup, I pulled them out of the cleaner, wiped them off, and dipped them again at 1/2 the time.

i didnt have to pull them.

Changed fuel filters and the engine wasn't getting fuel.
There was tons of rust or old fuel chunks sitting in the fuel line ahead of the filter. I never cleaned the inside as i thought it was fairly nice in there.
Must have had buildup in the lower parts i couldn't see

I will be tanking my fuel tank and repainting it this spring i guess.

When I use to rebuild carbs way back when, I would grab basket and swish back and forth (kinda like washing machine) every 15min or so. I think it helps move things around.

The solvent should not hurt brass, but may dissolve plastics. I have left bolts and gun barrels to soak for weeks to get burned on carbon free.

I have left brass and aluminum parts in carb cleaner for weeks at a time.it wont hurt the parts but be sure you remove any plastic or rubber or you will have a nasty mess to clean up.
