Carb removal & sitting outside

ok, as most know.
I havent got a garage so my bike has to sit outside (kills me too). I need to remove the carbs and then send them off to george for a complete overhaul soon and was wondering if i should go to the hardware and buy some bathtub test plugs to put into the intake boots to plug them. Or should i just stuff some rags in the holes and rubber band some plastic baggies over them?

I use plastic baggies and rubber bands. I take the carbs off every winter and will put them back on in March. The bike is outside but I have a cover over it.

I was expecting a several week turn around so I pulled the spark plugs and dumped a bunch of oil in the cylinders. I then stuffed the carb holders with rags then covered with baggies and rubber bands. Then I put the bike cover on. While waiting for the carbs to come back I installed new plug wires, fuel line, fuel filter and new vaccum hoses. When I got the carbs back I pulled the plugs and cranked the engine over with rags covering the plug holes to catch some of the oil. Installed the carbs, installed new plugs, turned the fuel on and she fired right up.:cheer:

I would also spray some light oil in the intake boots prior to covering them up, anything that will seal the elements out should work just fine
