kz550 fuel level adjustment

im trying to set the fuel level on my carbs but if i open the drain screw slow the level is low if i open it fast the level is high. what is the proper way to do this? Never mind i found what i was looking for on another site. i have tk carbs. and i was using a streight piece of clear tubeing and found a old antifreeze tester is what i should have been using. thanks.
