im just starting a new project, a kz 750 streetfighter. im goin to be putting a full dyna ignition and k&n filters with a vance and hynes system. the carbs are the issue. what would be the best set up carb wise to milk as much out of the little beast as i can?

All I can say is that in putting on the K&Ns and I presume your V&H system in a 4 ->1 then you will need to rejet the carbs just to make it run with those mods.

Are your carbs Keihins or Mikunis ?

There may be other carbs you could use or carbs mods you might make but I'm not aware of them.

Regarding upping the power of the 750 motor I have heard that installing Gpz cams will add some hp.

thats just it. i dont have any carbs just yet, i bought the bike as a basket lot and im trying to do something unique with it but for now im wondering will i go with stock carbs or will a set of gpz carbs do or are they the same? i used to own a gpz 750 unitrack back in the day and from my memory the carbs looked alike?

Some KZ750s came with Mikuni BS34 and some with Keihin CV34. Either will work fine. The carbs on a GPz750 are Mikuni BS34 and are no better or worse than the carbs from a KZ750. Either the Mik or Keihin carbs will deliver enough gas for your bike. We have a full BS34 install guide on our website if you are interested.

Interesting looking bike in your avatar. Do you have a bigger pic somewhere ?

Just my 2 cents worth but if I was looking for carbs I'd probably make Mikunis my first choice. I have Keihins and I'm comfortable with them but you cant get the smaller jets anywhere. The bigger ones are available at z1enterprises but I dont think the smaller ones are even made anymore.

what about the carbs from zx750 or ninja75o does anyone know if they will line up to the Intake Manifolds?

the bike in the pic is a kz900 motor with kz750 tank and an r1 racing seat in a kz1100 frame with a cbr900rr front and rear end..... and the list goes on but im in the middle of 2 other builds and iv changed my plan for her so its all up in the air right now. im not goin to post pics until im a little further ahead on them all.

but here is what she did look like, alot has changed since.

Check with the eBay seller for fitment if you are considering a specific set in an auction.

Don't ZX750s and 750 Ninjas have cam-chains that run off the end of the crank-shaft? That'd make the spacing on the carbs 'off' for your purposes, I would think.

BTW: nice work on your bike. Please post up on all yoru projects asap so we can 'geek' on 'em.:cheer:
