noticed something was created by quader98
i was doing a compression test today, got to almost 150 to all cylinders by the way, threw in new plugs and ran it for a couple of minutes. pulled the plugs and noticed that 1 and 4 had carbon fouling while 2 and 3 looked good.looked around the carbs a little and saw that where the vacumm plug goes on 1 and 4 had a tube that interconnected the two carbs...is this right? my E2 isnt set up that way

Do you have a vacuum controlled petcock? Probably been removed. That would account for one vacuum tap. How about the air injection system? Does or did the bike have one? If so that would account for the second tap. If both have been removed a common treatment is to join the two together.

If 1 & 4 or 2 & 3 are exhibiting similar symptoms I'd look toward the coils as that's how they're paired.
