What's wrong with my bike? was created by EasyRider1
My bike was running fine until yesterday. I took a carb boot off and was going to replace the airbox with pods but decided not to. I put everything back to normal. Now when I try to start my bike it won't idle right and it sounds like the carbs are spitting(air coming back from the engine and out through the carb boots. Also, a little bit of liquid (water I think) is dripping out of the exhaust (I think) connections. What is wrong? Did water get into my engine or what?

Duh! I figured it out. It was the upper hose on my petcock that slipped off when I removed the boot. I suppose that is some sort of fuel vacume?

Yes, it is likely the vacuum hose that actuates the petcock valve. No vacuum, no fuel flow (unless you set your petcock to the PRI position).

Suggest you put your bike type and location in your signature, so we always know what kind of bike(s) you have when you post questions. :)

I guess thats why it would run ok for a few moments when I primed it first.
