So im currently making my KZ 550 into a ratjap cafe racer.
I just bought a mac 4-1 all black, some clubman handlebars, I am now looking for pod air filters.
its 39mm right? and how would i go about installing them. like do i rip out the old airbox is there some tricks to this?
I am also going to get a jet kit...should i go with a stage 2 or stage 3?
I am going to model my build off of this guys.

Oh yeah, that's Travis' bike. It's one of my favorites.
With a Mac and pods, you can use the Dynojet kit #2305
www.denniskirk.com/jsp/product_catalog/P...re=Main&skuId=171811
You may also get away with just larger main jets. The kit comes with #98 jets. You may only need #96 jets.
I've found with the Mac, I had to increase the idle jets from 32 to 37 to get smoother performance when cold, but your bike may only need to be increased to 35. I don't know of a source for different size idle jets, but there are currently several threads on the 500 and 550 line using the TK-22 carbs like are on your bike. There is a link for new main jets that you might try.
The kit comes with new needles that I found work a little better than the stock needles.
